Take time to become consciously aware of your thoughts. If possible carry around a small notebook and just jot your thoughts down 3 or more times per hour. This will help you become aware of any repetitive thoughts.

Develop a mental habit of “checking your thoughts” as often as possible. Many of us are so busy these days we just rush from this place to that. We are constantly thinking of what we need to do next. – Or worse we are thinking “we should have done that” or “we shouldn’t have said what we did.”
Change Your Thoughts Tip#3. Make a conscious decision
Instantly replace any negative thoughts with a positive thought. If you’re thinking “I’m going to be late again” replace it with “I am always on time”. Keep repeating “I am always on time” to yourself. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the results.
If you’re thought is “My hair is a mess” replace it with “I have beautiful hair”.
This really doesn’t take much time. – Just a sincere conscious effort on your part.

When you find that you are having the same thoughts over and over again, these are probably the thoughts that are controlling your life. You will want to replace these thoughts with thoughts of the life you want. At this time you can write down the positive thoughts you wish to have – such as …
“I feel energetic” “I am debt free” “I love my job” etc.
Change Your Thoughts Tip#5. Affirm Positive Thinking
Set aside a few minutes every morning when you get up, and every night before you go to sleep. Read these positive thoughts aloud to your self. Say them with emotion.
It also helps to look in the mirror as you say them. Positive emotions reflect in your facial expressions. This helps to reprogram your negative thoughts into positive thoughts.
