About Cindy

Cindy-HolbrookWelcome to CindySense!

Hi, I’m Cindy.

I am a certified professional empowerment coach who assists people in gaining the confidence they need to lead a happy fulfilled life; By realizing their life is their choice, to develop the skills they need to overcome self limiting beliefs so that they can create the life of their dreams.  I have earned a Human services Certificate from UC Davis and have worked in social services for over 15 years.

I created this site to share with you what has helped me get through lifes many struggles.

Without the help of family, friends and many self-help products I don’t know where I’d be today!

Let me tell you a little something about myself. I am the youngest of five children. I was brought up in a dysfunctional lower middle-class family.

My parents were actually quite poor until I turned two and dad got a trucking job and became a Teamster. My eldest brother Earl was twelve years older than I. When we would talk about our childhood he would always say “Cindy are you sure we were raised by the same parents?”

I married my high school sweetheart, right out of school. We have two beautiful children together. After twenty years of marriage, I took a leap of courage and left a mentally abusive relationship. I figured life was too short to be miserable.

I’m happy to say, I am now married to a wonderful man. It’s amazing to me that a HEALTHY marriage is really possible. I used to think they just existed in the movies.

I have worked in social services for fifteen years. During this time I have seen and helped women, men, and families overcome many of lifes challenges. I’ve seen their live turn around once they began to believe in themselves, and realize that they were special and unique individuals.

I first became interested in self help in 1990. I felt like the ugliest person that ever lived. I felt unlovable and worthless at the time. I met with a psychiatrist whom asked me how I felt. For each negative feeling I described, he wrote down a positive feeling. When I left he handed me a paper with these positive feelings and told me to repeat them to myself every day. Such as “I feel loved” “I feel worthy” “I feel beautiful”.

I didn’t know it at the time but I was using affirmations. I believe it’s one of the fastest ways to boost your self-esteem.

I am featured as a Self-Help Professional on MotivationalWhisperers.com and am recognized as an Expert at SelfGrowth – Self Help from SelfGrowth.com- -SelfGrowth.com is the most complete guide to information about Self Help on the Internet.
