The mid 90s was a very trying time for me. It was during this time that my first marriage began falling apart (after 15 years). My best friend Liz was also having marital problems with her first husband.
I had “Dreamed” up this ideal man. My dream man had all of the strong characteristics of my first husband and all the romantic characteristics of Liz’s husband.
I used to talk about my “Dream Man” to Liz all of the time. I never put a face to my dream man – because looks really didn’t matter to me as much as personality.
My dream man had the following characteristics:
* A hard worker
* Knew how to enjoy life
* Knew how to balance work and family life
* Enjoy going places and doing new things
* Family oriented
* Intelligent
* Have a sense of humor
* Be even tempered
* Did not drink
* Romantic
* Enjoy spending time with me
* Accepted me exactly as I am
In my wildest dreams I never thought such a man existed – except for maybe in my romance novels. Never the less My “Dream Man” helped me through many a bad times.
In June 1997 my first husband and I separated – after twenty years of marriage. As I settled into my life as a single mom, I began playing on the computer a lot.
I ran across this site Matchmaker.com – a site truly geared towards finding serious relationships.
It offered a months free trial, and I thought what could it hurt? I was very interested in learning what other men were like – as I had been with my first husband since I was 16.
I emailed a few different guys and even met a few of them in person. From the beginning I was drawn to this one particular profile … And because I didn’t know where the heck he lived, I kept debating rather or not to email him.
I’m sure that you’ve guessed it by now; the man behind the profile was and is my dream man – my husband Mike. He has every single characteristic that I had dreamt up so many years ago.
Mike is an avid Bass fisherman. My maiden name was Bass (really!). So it was trully destiny. Read Mikes version of our meeting.

Call it fate, luck or whatever you want to It’s interesting that when I finally emailed Mike, he only had 2 days left as a member – and he had decided not to renew his subscription.
Since then I have learned so much about the “Law of Attraction”. How we attract things and people into our life. I believe that all of my thoughts about my “Dream Man” brought My Mike into my life!
