What is Life Coaching? – It’s Not Therapy!

Life Coaching is a partnership. You and I will work together in discovering your authentic self. We will discover your likes and dislikes, your strengths and weaknesses. Together we will create a plan of action for you to create the life you desire.

As your Coach, I assist you to gain self-confidence, overcome life’s obstacles and be empowered to live a richer, happier, fuller life.

As your Coach, I use my personal knowledge and experience as a tool to motivate and challenge you to the next level.

Coaching deals with your current life or career situation. We do not go back to your past to relive those hurtful feelings.

Therapy is used to treat and diagnose conditions by therapists that are trained in medical and behavioral sciences.

Coaching focuses on your strengths. As your Coach, I am trained in assisting you to determine what actions you will need to take so you can achieve your desired outcome. I am your cheerleader.

Therapists are obligated to keep their personal feelings and thoughts detached.

I just wanted to offer my praise for the life coaching services offered by Cindy Holbrook. My husband and I run our own small company. In early 2009, we faced the worst storm we had ever run into in a financial way.

Our business equipment had been giving us problems…on a monthly basis. It seems like we were making just enough to repair the equipment every month. Once the economy got really bad, our orders began decreasing. From the first week of January until the last week of April, we didn’t make any profits from our business, which is how we feed our family. As a matter of fact, we were almost $20,000 in debt with our business.

During this time, I requested Cindy’s coaching services. I was able to keep myself positive throughout this experience. And, things began looking up. We were able to sell off the bad equipment that kept breaking, and purchase new equipment under a new contract. This did cause us to have to move to another state, but we were above water for the first time in months.

Then…we hit rock bottom. Before we could climb completely out of the hole, we ended up homeless. Living out of a hotel. We never lost hope, though. Because we knew (thanks to Cindy) that being positive and staying focused on the life we wanted for ourselves, personally and for our business, that we’d get there.

I found an opportunity to put some of my skills to use in a second business. It’s actually my dream occupation, and best of all I am self-employed so I can continue helping my husband with his company and work around my kids’ schedules.

A month after finding this opportunity and “moving” into the hotel, everything fell into place. We got a second car (that we needed), and more than that, it was “thee” car that we wanted. We got a house-a large home in a nice community within a good school district.

Now, we are still on our way up. Sure, there are speed bumps…but we know how to react to those unexpected occurrences. We are so much better off for it. Our businesses are thriving and we are happy.
