Thanks for your comments Jackie. Just wanted to point out that I never said to ignore or avoid your negative emotions. I agree it is best to feel the feeling
and then let it go. However staying in negative emotions all the time is not good for you .... The article states: " It’s perfectly normal for you to have bad thoughts and feelings at times. Remaining stuck in a prolonged negative emotional state is something you should avoid. Thinking negative thoughts all of the time will drain you of energy, create additional stress, destroy relationships and cause physical illnesses."
Most negative feelings and thoughts are towards ourselves, therefore when self-confidence is developed, we lead a happier more balanced life.

Isn't it better to accept all of your emotions good and bad. Some people go out of their way to avoid their negative emotions and try only having positive thoughts all the time. When their life doesn't change they actually feel worse than before they started.
I think we have to acknowledge and accept that we have negative emotions and that it is OK for them to be present within us. For if we try and suppress or ignore them they get stronger and more repetitive. We kind of end up fighting ourselves, resisting ourselves so to speak.
Chase after the feel good factor of the positive emotions is lying to yourself and what we resist persists. Negative emotions are serious business and accepting and embracing them and that it is Ok for you to have them actually makes them vanish because you are no longer fighting yourself.
