Boost Self EsteemHaving a High Self-Esteem is a skill that anyone can learn.

Begin your journey now with these 7 Tips to Boost Your Self-Esteem

1. Love Yourself

You are a beautiful wondrous unique individual! Accept that. You don’t need to try and be anyone else to be loved and accepted. Once you love and accept yourself others will too.
Write down your strengths and accomplishments. Give yourself credit where credit is due.

Do things for yourself - give yourself a massage, buy that new outfit, treat yourself to a dinner and/or a movie, take the time to relax in a bath or meditate.

Give yourself the time and space you need to get in touch with your inner beauty.

Forgive yourself – no one is perfect and no one expects you to be either. Often times we’re harder on ourselves than others are.

2. Dress Sharp

When you look nice you feel good. When you feel good it comes out in your tone of voice. So get up every morning and put on something that looks good and makes you feel good about yourself.

3. Get in Shape

Eat healthy, exercise, get plenty of rest. When you take care of yourself your physical and emotional health will improve. You’ll be able to think more clearly and make better decisions. Be sure to get regular check ups with your physician.

4. Be Grateful

Count your blessings. Find something to be grateful for in every situation that comes your way. You know, when life gives you lemons – make lemonade!

Things you could be grateful for are your home, your health, your children, your friends, your job, a compliment that someone gave you, etc.

5. Try Something New

Go on – take a risk! Try something new, something you’ve always wanted to learn.

Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. It’s the way we learn and grow. Recognize mistakes for what they are – OPPORTUNITIES.

Every new task you learn and accomplish will boost your self-esteem. This gives you the motivation to continue with the project at hand and to try more new things in the future.

6. Affirmations

Affirmations work. You constantly use self-talk whether or not your realize it. You say to yourself, I like this or I don’t like that. You say I feel good, I feel mad, I feel sad, I feel energetic etc.

Pay attention to what you’re telling yourself. Use affirmations consciously. Write down your affirmations on 3 x 5 cards and repeat them to yourself several times a day.

Affirmations should be “I feel” and “I am” statements …
I feel good. I feel energetic. I feel enthusiastic. I feel loved.
I am lovable. I am confident. I am likeable. I am worthy.

7. Compliment Others

When you make someone else feel good it automatically boosts your spirits. When you make someone else happy – you feel like you’ve done something good.

Greet everyone with a smile. Be courteous. Follow the Golden Rule “Treat others as you would like to be treated.”

Also, learn to accept compliments from others. When someone compliments you say “Thank You”, and go on with your life. Don’t tell yourself you don’t deserve the compliment.
